We hear the term “adventure” thrown around a lot and since we call ourselves adventure wedding photographers, we were thinking it might be time to talk a little about what that means! (Hint: you don’t have to be getting married on the summit of Kilimanjaro for your wedding to be an adventure…)

Jen & Darin wasted no time post proposal scheduling their Kailua Engagement photos! Literally the next weekend we were out at dawn on Lanikai Beach letting the romance flow! I would say that their intense love was still feeling the effects of the proposal in an outpouring of emotion, but I’ve come to realize that these two are always this affectionate and in love! They are also full of fun and love for the outdoors, which makes a beach session all that much more adventurous!

The weather was almost as awesome as our couple for this Lanikai Beach Engagement session. Kat and Joe came to Oahu from South Carolina by way of the Navy. Ever seen Hunt for Red October? You’re gonna LOVE this story then! Joe is a submariner working on a Virginia class submarine stationed out of Pearl Harbor.

Wanderlust is far from just yoga. A walk through the festival grounds will prove that. And Hawaii is more than just beaches. (No, really!) While on Oahu we trend towards beach wedding photography, however our love for photographing events in line with our passions touch our hearts in an entirely different way.

We had a blast with this Kualoa Beach Park Engagement session! Langdon and John have a story almost as beautiful as their love. John is military and deployed in 2010 to the Phillippines where he met Langdon (working for the US Pacific Command.) By mid May of 2011, after posts in between, they found themselves both on Oahu. Fate was smiling on them and it only took one weekend for their friendship to develop into love.

Who says you can’t keep marrying the man of your dreams? While on their one year anniversary trip to Oahu, Connie contacted me to do a Kailua Hawaii engagement session. A hop skip and a jump from the Bay Area, we finally had a break in the rain for some fun on the beach!
