Most of our engagement sessions occur in the Portsmouth NH region. And there’s no shortage of amazing locations to take advantage of! Meg & DJ were particularly adventurous to wake up at a ridiculous hour during their summer vacation. But we were committed to a sunrise beach engagement session. In town only for the weekend, they were taking full advantage of every minute of daylight. And while we may have cursed the idea when the alarm clock buzzed, our tune changed the second the sun peaked out.

Parking was an issue at Wallis Sands due to the pandemic closing all lots, but we managed to find a work around. And the results are proof that you don’t need a location with tons of visual variety. Just a gorgeous sun and energy. Thank you coffee!

An extra win with sunrises are that you are almost guaranteed privacy since few people are nutty enough to wake up for it. Especially during a weekday. But most importantly, this beach resonated with who Meg & DJ are as a couple. They met through water polo, and were in training for an open water swim race. Having grown up locally, Meg is no stranger to the chill of New England oceans. DJ is no stranger to Meg’s hardiness and determination. Sport, nature, and adventure are at the core of their relationship. Making the NH Seacoast a perfect expression of their union.
