Okay, this isn’t our typical photo session. And it’s not like Matt was handicapped. Just the opposite. He had run the MDI Marathon the day prior, and was extremely sore. Thus requesting a limited mobility Acadia proposal photo session. The reason we think it’s a great session to share is twofold. First, it gives an example of some off the beaten path locations. (Which are gorgeous, virtually empty, and offer close by parking.) Second, it shows how possible it is to have a fantastic session with nearly any mobility level. With our own ups and downs, plus family health issues, we’ve become pretty well versed at picking friendly locations for anyone.
Matt wasn’t into the cliche idea of a proposal at the marathon finish line. And we’re all for scenic backgrounds. So, we took the challenge of his not being up for much adventure, while still creating scenic, intimate backdrops for his and Karoline’s epic moment. Being in October, we had fall foliage and a later sunrise to take advantage of. We hit two different locations, didn’t walk further than maybe 200 feet from the car, and only shared the location with wildlife.
We’re pretty happy with the results, and invite couples of all abilities to feel as though there’s a perfect spot for them waiting to be uncovered.

It really is our favorite place on the planet and certainly one of the top National Parks in the country! Our process for Acadia proposals starts with getting to know the proposer and understanding what their vision of the event is. We’ll then work with you to find the best location and time of day to propose in Acadia and work with you in any way we can to help with the remainder of the planning and keeping it a secret.
We have successfully navigated the island in a wheelchair, walker, broken foot, or just not feeling good bodies. The beauty of Acadia should be accessible to everyone, and we want to make sure your photos have every opportunity for being memorable as your more able bodied friends. Having dealt with chronic health issues, and injuries of all varieties, we get it.
