Fall foliage season in Acadia is by far our busiest time of year. Being an island, we can select certain spots that come into peak sooner and later, giving a wide range of opportunities. Most couple want a foliage proposal in Acadia to have both water and trees. This is a bit tricky (though not impossible). But it’s most readily achievable by using two separate locations. Choosing the more dramatic coastal backdrop for the proposal. Then a woodsy area for pops of color. Setu had a specific location in mind for the latter. One we hadn’t recommended previously. Not because it isn’t beautiful and diverse. But because it’s not part of Acadia National Park, and therefore doesn’t seem to hold the same appeal for people. But it’s secluded, off the beaten trail, and provides wonderful pops of color in fall. We love it, and were excited for his enthusiasm.

Fall foliage proposals in Acadia have tons of flexibility as the sun is lower and less harsh in October. Meaning we get to play around with timing, and have that golden sun for a wonderfully long time. The entire month of October tends to be on the sunny side, often with lots of cloud cover at the start and end of the day. But for Meghan and Setu, the sky was perfectly clear and temperature warm enough to not need many layers of clothing. Coming from Texas, they seemed perfectly adaptable to embracing the crisp air.

What we particularly love about their session, is how they made it their own. It wasn’t about finding the trendiest spot in Acadia. Or even the most “Maine vibe.” They chose to combine locations to get a feel for both experiences. While making the mini session more about their love in a beautiful spot. That we didn’t meet a single other person there made it even more special.
