Cadillac is by far the most common proposal location. Our last session up there had two other proposals happening amongst the crowd. So, when a couple is looking for a more private experience, we’re all too ready with suggestions!

Our first recommendation is an Acadia sunset proposal on the Quietside. It’s called that for a reason, and is a fantastic opportunity to get away from crowds. This was mid-August, a height of tourist season. Where you can be waiting in a traffic jam to access the Park Loop. And going hungry trying to find a restaurant without a one-hour wait.

Blaise was totally eager suggestions to avoid the crowds. We paired it with a referral to an amazing restaurant nearby offering fine dining with water views. And which takes reservations. This made for an easier sell venturing out from their Bar Harbor rental. Knowing that an intimate location was priority, we focused on a spot that delivered. Low foot traffic, while still offering coastal Maine vibes. And while facing East, the sky still gets a magical warm glow with colors filling the sky.

Vanessa fell for the “Let me take your photo looking out over the ocean”, while Blaise pulled a ring out inside of a camera. Then handed her a floral bouquet we had arranged from a local florist. One car drove by yelling out their congratulations. Otherwise, the night was theirs. We especially love how having two cameras on them offers such different views, and brings the scene to life.

Our only downer? We wished this had been a full photo session instead of just photographing the proposal. Because everything was perfect – their outfits, the evening sky, flowers, tide pools. We just wanted to keep taking pictures! But, they had a dinner reservation waiting.
