Jon’s Acadia surprise fall engagement took place on the busiest weekend in October. It’s when the leaves are at peak, cruise boats are parked in the harbor, and thousands gather for the marathon. That didn’t stop us from finding perfectly secluded spots. Both fitting the bill in being iconic ANP vibes. One for an Acadia sunrise proposal along the coast. And one for an Acadia fall engagement session after.
Chelsea thought she was in town for a weekend getaway with friends. We loved helping Jon prove her wrong! Their story is one of the more unique ones we have heard. Jon was visiting his brother at college, and called an Uber for them. Chelsea was their driver! Jon’s brother recognized her from a class together. And before long, Jon and Chelsea realized a shared taste in music, and began a friendship. It was at a music festival in Utah that their love story truly began.
While proposing in an Uber would certainly have been more full circle, we think Jon made the right call with an Acadia sunrise proposal. With the sun not rising nearly as early in October, there were no bleary eyes. The couple huddled under a blanket until color peaked over the Atlantic. Jon proposed as the coast was bathed in golden light. A wonderfully peaceful morning.
Wanting to take advantage of the fall colors, we hopped over to a second location afterwards. Nestled in the yellows of birch trees, morning light seeping through, we could have stayed all morning. But, ducked out just in time to avoid traffic from the marathon. Then sent Chelsea and Jon off to enjoy a celebratory brunch with their friends.
Let us help you plan your own Fall Acadia Surprise Engagement Session:
It really is our favorite place on the planet and certainly one of the top National Parks in the country! Our process for Acadia proposals starts with getting to know the proposer and understanding what their vision of the event is. We’ll then work with you to find the best location and time of day to propose in Acadia and work with you in any way we can to help with the remainder of the planning and keeping it a secret.
If an Acadia proposal on Sand Beach at sunset is what speaks to you, then we’re all for helping you plan it. Or we can help you find the perfect spot with fewer people and stress-free parking. Kate has been visiting Acadia every year since she was born and introduced Keith when they shot their first wedding together there. We now spend the majority of the season exploring the park while we stay at our family’s home on island. It is with this passion and knowledge of the park that we can find the perfect place for your surprise proposal in Acadia National Park and be there with you to photograph the first chapter in your wedding story.
We intentionally don’t give out too many of our secrets here for the benefit of our couples. If you’re interested in working with us to photograph your surprise engagement in Acadia we’d love to chat with you! Let’s start making plans! Contact us now!
