Monadnock Berry Farm Wedding
Taylor

What’s better than wild Maine blueberries? A wedding on a New Hampshire blueberry farm overlooking Mount Monadnock, of course! Kelsey & Taylor, two enigmatic life-loving women chose Monadnock Berry Farm for their New England August wedding. Complete with a DJ who also delivered pizza. A Whip & Nae Nae so fierce it resulted in a broken arm. And so many blueberries we are still a shade of purple. The goats stole some hearts, and our dreams were fulfilled with this New Hampshire farm wedding. This is the story of two women, an army soldier and a singer, joining together for a celebration which rocked the Keene area town of Troy, NH.
One of our loves is same sex weddings. Why? It enables us to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. We aim to live our values, but it’s not every day we are able to do that through wedding photography. Love is at the core of our principles, and to us it has no “rights” and “wrongs.”
Kelsey is military. Taylor is a creative. High school was not a distant memory for either. They had pet lizards, Cupcake and Macintosh. And had been dating less than a year. However, none of that stood out as defining factors over their larger than life personalities. Taylor is the poster child for “extrovert”, wanting to share her love with every human she encounters, filling the world with smiles. She brings Kelsey to life, and together their laughter is contagious. Inside jokes will form immediately, and you’ll be pretty sure you’ve just found friends for life.
Taylor is from Maryland, working as a nanny and going to school for music education with an aspiration of being a choir professor. Kelsey is from New Hampshire and followed in her older brother’s footsteps, joining the army to pay for college. After boot camp in Missouri, and five months in Germany she landed at Fort Meade, Maryland.
Monadnock Berry Farm is understated to say the least. Tucked off a dirt road in Southwestern New Hampshire, it’s entirely easy to miss if not for the wooden signs every few miles. However, with each step further into the heart, the spirit of the valley unfolds, from the welcoming nibbles of the goats to lush green lawns, intimate farm store, and an amazing view of Mount Monadnock.
Surrounded by family from New Hampshire, Maryland and friends from all over, Kelsey swept Taylor into her arms for a first dance under the tent as children gorged themselves on blueberries just beyond. On a remote farm, accessed by desolate dirt roads, the oasis enveloped their happiness. Dancing, lawn games, selfies and blueberry studded drinks lit up the valley as golden light closed down on Mount Monadnock. The tent, a white light among a hillside of green, seemed to bounce along to the beat and vibration. We joined for a private dance in the rows of berries before dinner. Then drank in the cool August night as stars twinkled above. Our greatest joy? Knowing our friendship is, indeed, for life.
