Are you looking for Grafton Vermont wedding photographers to help you decide if this is the place to get married? Well, we definitely recommend it and Nat & Justin’s wedding weekend photos from the Grafton Inn will show you why!
Before we share more of their incredible wedding weekend, let’s take a step back to the beginning. They have a great story that starts over a EuroCup soccer game in Madrid…
Both had just graduated from college and were each on their own backpacking adventure through Europe. It was summer. They were in Spain. They met for the very first time on a walking tour that coincided with an overlapping hostel stay. But that was just the beginning and the summer wasn’t over yet.
Is it possible to tell a story about love and Europe and not mention Paris? Okay, it definitely is, but not this time! You’ll have to get the steamy details from Nat and Justin, but let’s just suffice it to say that they ran back into each other in the City of Light and there was a first kiss under the Eiffel Tower… c’mon, first kisses under the Eiffel Tower? Sounds pretty magical to us!
Fast forward through nearly three years of making long distance work. Boston to Baltimore and Baltimore to Boston until the coveted Southwest Airlines A-List status could be reached and Justin made the jump to Boston permanently.
The life-building continued. Cooking and hiking and spending time in the outdoors. Work they believe in. Camping in Vermont.
And of course, a dog named Mootz (for the ever-authentic-and-much-beloved Guy Fieri’s pronunciation of “mozzarella” or, in case you aren’t familiar, “mootz-erella”). If we had our way, Mootz The Mighty Min-Pin would get a blog post all his own!
Nat’s family hails from Belgium and four years after that first fateful meeting in Europe, they crossed the big blue ocean to visit some of Nat’s family near Brussels. Justin planned it all, from the surprise appearance of Nat’s mom in the small family-owned bakery, to his proposal of marriage that left everyone in tears and laughter. It was pretty brilliant.
They couldn’t imagine a wedding that didn’t include all of their favorite people, both family and friends, so they created a mini-destination wedding weekend at the Grafton Inn in Vermont that could include lots of play time outdoors and plenty for their active crew of loved ones to do. It was a truly unforgettable wedding weekend and we couldn’t have been more excited to be their Grafton Vermont wedding photographers.
Do you like your marshmallows barely melty or with a burnt crust? The debate continues…
The Grafton Trail and Outdoor Center was the perfect place to kick off the wedding weekend…hike all day, campfire all night!
Now on to the wedding story.
We are big believers in telling as complete a wedding story as possible, so we l-o-v-e LOVE it when our couples feel the same way and seek photographers to capture the entirety of their experience. Nat and Justin created such a spectacular weekend for their guests and we were tasked with the dream job of telling that story from beginning to end. From the awe-inspiring views on the Friday morning hike at the Grafton Trails and Outdoor Center through the moment they pledged their commitment before the ones they hold most dear. And on in to the night of dancing and celebration.
We were there when the kickball game got so intense that a spare ball had to be “borrowed” from the local school.
We were there when the bonfire was lit and the s’mores supplies started getting passed.
We were there for the swim in the pond and the burnt orange sunset and the hysterical laughter that always happens at rehearsals.
We were there for the putting on of the dress and the tying of the tie. The figuring out how to pin a boutonniere and the exclamations over bouquets as they arrived.
And, of course, we were there when Nat took Justin’s hand in hers, when rings were given in promise, when vows were made from the heart.
When Nat and Justin asked us to join them for a quiet moment after becoming husband and wife, we were there for their barefoot wade into a cool river current.
And when they were ready to kick up their heels, we were there for the moves that brought their dance floor to life. (And we’re serious- there were some MOVES! It’s just what happens when you combine a bride who runs marathons with a band that really jams!)
The laughter and the hugs. The tears and the toasts. The moments that couldn’t have been planned if they’d tried.
Did we mention the laughter?
So. Much. Laughter.
Nat and Justin- thank you so much for including us in your wedding weekend and choosing us to be your Grafton Vermont wedding photographers! We loved every minute of being a part of your celebration of love, not just of each other but also of the community you’ve surrounded yourself with. Thank you.
Jordane from Heavenscent Floral Art did such great work on all of the florals!
Nat & Justin began over a EuroCup game and their wedding day started with a World Cup viewing event …it looks like there may forever be a soccer theme to their story!
It’s so great when everyone can stay on the property, from lodging to getting ready to ceremony to reception- there’s no worrying about traffic or guests getting lost! And the Grafton Inn takes this to whole new level with the very real sense that your wedding has the run of this quaint Vermont town…
Nat 100% rocked this gorgeous Maggie Sottero wedding gown!
There are a bunch of great options for ceremony locations at The Grafton Inn. Nat & Justin chose the quiet spot by the stream it’s one of our favorites…private and beautiful, with a summery feel!
Married!!!! Woo hoo!!!!
A little barefoot quiet in the cool of the stream…
When you hire the Sugarbabies as your band, you’d better make sure you have a big enough dance floor, because these guys ROCK!
Nat’s marathon training paying off on the dance floor! She never flagged a bit!
Thanks again, Nat & Justin! We need to catch up so you can tell us all about Italy!
